A bit about me…

Hi, I’m Dena, a 47 yo with 1 husband, 1 dog, 2 children, 2 grandchildren, 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs.. I’m a full time mental health occupational therapist working with older adults and I genuinely love my job.

I’m a dabbler in most things, what do they say “jack of all trades yet master of nothing”, I think that sums me up- with crafts and pastimes there is not much I haven’t tried.  I love baking, making healthy meals, making unhealthy meals, crochet, sewing, drawing including zentangle, taking care of my family, caring for my pets and spending time with friends- especially if a cheeky glass of Pinot noir is present also!

I’ve created this place to store the ideas of the things I do, and also to use as a bit of a food journal.. having steadily increased in weight over the years and approaching half a century makes you consider your health a little more. By recording my daily food ( and drink) consumption, It will hopefully let me monitor and maybe reduce my intake, and you never know, I might lose a little weight in the process!! We shall see….

One of the founders of OT, Mary Reilly had a famous quote:

“Man, through the use of his hands, as they are energized by mind and will, can influence the state of his own health.”

MARY REILLY, EDD, OTR, FAOTA (1916 – 2012)

I believe this whole heartedly, So hopefully my little dabbles will keep me well in both body and soul, who knows…
